why hello

My name is Alicia Spencer and I’m a teenager from Sydney Australia, in love with poetry in its entirety.

The world would be slightly less painful to endure if people simply appreciated poetry for all its beauty and its flaws, its rhyme and its razzmatazz. I’m not saying that I can change peoples minds in any way, I am simply hoping to share my own poetry, in a feeble attempt to compel somebody – even if that means one person – to appreciate what poetry and spoken word can do.

Anyhow, apart from reading and writing poetry I enjoy:
transcribing my chaotic thoughts, eating potatoes, reading literature, playing my two beautiful clarinets, listening to jazz and klezmer, realism drawing, whistling the melody to Monty Python’s “always look on the bright side of life”, making lists but never using them, rewatching movies 10+ times until I can sit there and quote the entire script {so far I’ve got Iron Man 3, Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest, Monty Python’s The Holy Grail, Men In Black 3, Kingsman, and some others I cannot think of right this second}, collecting Tombow¬†brush markers, anything involving my beautiful German Shepherd; Diesel, star trek the original series, J.D. Salinger novels, making paper cranes, being a coffee snob, collecting 70’s and 80’s hit CD’s, driving for hours with no real destination in mind, Carl Maria von Weber, George Gershwin, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Umberto Eco, Raymond E Feist… the list goes on.
